Liz James
Liz is one of the newest members of the team having joined Essex Abel in Spring 2011, with over ten years experience with Leicester based firms of Chartered accountants. Her role as a client advisor includes providing advice in relation to clients accounting and management systems to ensure that their systems not only meet their tax compliance requirements but also providing the information they require in order to monitor their business performance.
In addition, Liz supervises the audit and accounts department ensuring the client audit process is undertaken efficiently in order to minimise the effect on the clients business; whilst ensuring clients meet all of their financial compliance requirements.
Liz qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2006. She trained at an independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Leicester, helping small and medium sized businesses to meet their compliance needs, this included advising and training clients on their bookkeeping systems and VAT returns, where she worked for six years. Then in 2008 moved to the audit department of a top ten firm of Chartered Accountants based in Leicester, where she supervised and lead the audit and preparation of accounts for small and medium sized businesses based all over the country. In this role she also undertook review of companies accounting systems and provided advice to them as how to improve them and make them more efficient.
Her interests include cycling, pilates, going to the theatre and cake decorating.
